Abstract
- Electromagnetic properties of high contrast gratings covered by a thin layer of vanadium dioxide have been studied. It is shown that phase transition of the vanadium dioxide from semiconductor to metallic state allows to effectively controlling the polarization of the transmitted electromagnetic radiation in the subterahertz range. Effects of Mie and guided-mode resonances on polarization characteristics of metasurfaces are investigated. Results can be useful for development of ultrafast polarization modulators of microwave and terahertz range.
