Abstract

The aluminosilicate microspheres from the fly ash of different power stations (Western Siberian TETs, Belovskaya GRES, Novo-Kemerovo TETs, and Tom-Usinskaya GRES), which burn Kuznetsk coal, were studied by a set of physicochemical methods (BET, SEM, XRD analysis, and granulometric analysis). For comparison, a sample of microspheres from the Pavlodar TETs-2, which burns Ekibastuz coal, was examined. Differences in the textural, structural, and morphological properties of microspheres, which are related to the nature of burnt coal and the operating conditions of combustion, were demonstrated.
