Abstract

We describe methods and applications of laser light scattering (LLS) with an emphasis on characterizing macromolecules in solution. The discussions include brief theoretical background and experimental practices of LLS for standard static and dynamic LLS, as well as descriptions of fluid static and dynamic structures in Fourier space, and special techniques for multiple scattering and speckles, such as cross-correlation spectroscopy. Applications to macromolecular systems from dilute, moderately concentrated, and turbid solutions to polymer gels, melt blends, and solids are also discussed.
