Abstract
- The paper presents a study of the effect of high temperatures (up to 180°C) and an alkaline environment on the physical and mechanical properties of fiber from a copolymer of polyacrylonitrile with methyl acrylate. These studies are of interest for fiber reinforced concrete and the technologies of its production. Such studies are also useful in studying the properties of fiber reinforced concrete used and exposed to high temperatures. As a result of the research, the tensile strength, strain-to-failure, deformation as a function of temperature and FTIR-spectra for fiber were obtained. The results clearly demonstrate that use polymer fiber from a copolymer of polyacrylonitrile with methyl acrylate for reinforcing fiber concrete is possible at temperatures up to 60°C, at this temperature in an alkaline environment there is a slight decrease in the mechanical characteristics of the fiber.
