Abstract
- I review the methods used to discover obscured AGN. These are; optical and near infrared spectroscopic searches for broad wings on permitted lines, analysis of the X‐ray continuum distribution, and optical spectropolarimetry which can reveal the scattered component of the BLR and non stellar continuum. New optical and X‐ray observations of the narrow‐line radio galaxy (NLRG) IC 5063, show it to be an obscured BLRG.
