Abstract
- Superconducting reluctance motors with YBCO bulk material have been built and tested up to more than 10 kW. They have been operated in liquid nitrogen at 77 K, at different frequencies (speeds) and loads. The specific power achieved is significantly higher than that in conventional motors. The small size and low weight of such motors can be considered as important advantages for special applications. The test results and the theory applied are in good accordance.
