Abstract

Restoration of teeth suffering molar incisor hypomineralization (MIH) is problematic due to both micromorphological changes of tooth hard tissues and pain history of respective children. A new MIH-treatment need index (MIH-TNI) supports the adequate treatment of the defective teeth. Direct restorations give the possibility to safe sound tooth structure and to isolate teeth with hypersensitivity. Materials under focus are glass ionomer cements for temporary restoration and adhesively applied resin composite for definitive treatment.
