Abstract

A variety of previous research findings have shown that educational games can improve students’ knowledge, proving that the joyful learning experience improves the learning process. However, it is not easy to make educative or learning activities interesting enough to stimulate the acquisition of career knowledge in lower grade elementary school students. This research was conducted to examine the effectiveness of quartet card game in increasing career knowledge in lower grade elementary school students (grades 1, 2, and 3). A quantitative approach and an experimental method were employed. The data were collected with career knowledge pretest and posttest with 254 lower grade elementary school students and were analyzed with a statistical t-test of the gain scores and variance analysis of the posttest gain scores from the three different methods.
