Abstract
- The fate of cadmium released into a forest ecosystem via a chemical accident was determined by analysing cadmium in biological tissue from a number of differing tropic levels within the ecosystem: including soil litter, graminaceous species, invertebrates and small mammals. Cadmium was bioavailable to all organisms investigated and was transferred through the food chain to small mammals.
