Nanocoatings

The surface characteristics of many biomedical devices, tools, implants, therapeutic vehicles, etc., are of critical importance in many areas as they have direct contact with human cells, tissues, and other biological systems. Regarding the developments in nanosciences within the last decade, nanocoatings and nanostructured coatings have been presented as a versatile approach for modification of biomedical surfaces to improve their properties and functionality. This chapter deals with nanocoating preparation methods and focuses on their applications in the biomedical field.
