Abstract
- The development of devices applied to endoscopy has led endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) to become also an interventional procedure, for example with EUS-guided direct tumor ablation that can represent a potential therapeutic alternative option for patients not amenable to surgical treatments. Great efforts have been made to develop EUS-guided ablative therapy for pancreatic cancer, with the aim of providing better local disease control and reduce metastatic tumor spreading. This review will provide a description of the different EUS-guided ablative technologies and their clinical application.
