Abstract

The USAR continues to be the most utilized Reserve Component organization in the Department of Defense, but like its Active Component counterpart it must evolve in its core competencies by identification and development of logistics process improvements and then apply technology to resolve identified deficiencies. This study summarizes Focused Logistics, which is the essential element behind the Army RML, and explains the process of evolutionary change for a military force to reach the Army After Next (AAN). It then addresses the contributions the Army Reserve is making in the current force and addresses USAR initiatives for the programmed force of Army XXI. Finally, this study explains what the Army and Army Reserve are doing to modernize as logistics is transformed to accomplish support of the Army's mission of full spectrum dominance.
