Simulation Secondary Electron Emission of a Hopped FED

Abstract
- Hopping field emission display (HopFED) which is based on secondary electron emission is a novel structure of field emission display [1]. Compared to the conventional structures, this new type has several advantages. The brightness, the luminance uniformity and the profile of the spot on the screen have been improved. To simplify the fabrication process, the gate electrode is deposited on the bottom surface of the hop glass plate, as shown in Fig.1. However, a few electrons may be collected by the gate electrode in this structure.
