Abstract

A rheo-optical study of the influence of additives on crystallization rates in synthetic cis-1,4 polyisoprene (IR2200) at room temperature is presented. Nine different additives at a 1% concentration were examined. This study has found many additives which seem to be effective in enhancing the rate of stress-induced crystallization in IR2200. We have found that there is a good relation between enhancement of green strength and fraction of stress-induced crystallinity, ϕc, in IR2200 caused by additives.
