Abstract

Graphic reconstruction is the first step of electromagnetic multiphase flow measurement. In this paper, regular algorithm is used to reconstruct the velocity in the direction of electrode cross section. A new finite element procedure for the solution of velocity profiles using multielectrode electromagnetic flow meter is presented. The solution of the weight function is important for inferring the velocity profile from measured potential differences within the electromagnetic flow meter. On the basis of weight function theory, the regional weight function is put forward. Based on the finite element analysis, the flow section of the measuring pipe is divided into several small areas. The weight function is calculated by the induced electromotive force, and the average axial velocity value in each area is reconstructed. Finally, the flow field is reconstructed and the local velocity distribution is measured.
