Abstract

A dynamic circuit network (DCN) provides an advance bandwidth reservation (ABR) service across multiple administrative domains. The On-demand Secure Circuits and Advance Reservation System (OSCARS) is a DCN controller deployed in many networks, for example, the Energy Sciences Network (ESnet) and Internet2 in USA, Rede Nacional de Ensino e Pesquisa (RNP) in Brazil, and JGN-X (a new generation network testbed) in Japan. This paper proposes inter-domain QoS scenarios and an extension of a new path computation element (PCE) with Attribute-Mapping for quality of services (QoS) differentiation in OSCARS. Our modified OSCARS performs a QoS mechanism in which network resources are reserved for high priority requests to ensure low request blocking probabilities (RBPs). Our proposal differentiates among requests for both intra- and inter-domain communications.
