Abstract

A phytochemical investigation of Toona ciliata var. ciliata afforded three new polyynes, 1 - 3. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic analysis and chemical methods. Only compound 3 exhibited potent cytotoxicity against the HL-60 cell line with an IC(50) value of 6.7 +/- 0.27 mu M.
