Time-series study of sanding in Ventura Harbor, California

An analysis of sand accumulation was carried out in the entrance channel of Ventura Harbor based on 44 quasi-monthly sounding surveys made over the four-year period from January 1965 to January 1969. The accumulation was found to follow a marked seasonal pattern of little or no deposition in summar (May to October) and maximum deposition in winter (between November and March).
