Combination of Lymphocyte Count and Albumin Concentration as a New Prognostic Biomarker for Colorectal Cancer

Purpose: In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the prognostic importance of lymphocytexalbumin (LA) combination in patients having colorectal cancer who underwent curative resection, besides its relationship with postoperative complications. Method: Patients who underwent curative surgery for colorectal cancer between the dates of January 2015 and January 2019 were included in the study. We defined the LA as lymphocyte count (/L)×albumin (g/L). The cut-off point was determined by ROC curves. The patients were divided into two groups according to the cut-off point: Group 1 (Low LA) and Group 2 (High LA). Demographic, clinical and pathological characteristics and survival times were compared between the two groups.
