Refractories for Carbon Black Manufacturing

Carbon black is an important industrial chemical used as raw material for many other industries like rubber, polymer, paints, etc. This is produced at very high temperature by cracking heavy feedstocks in specially designed reactors. This chapter has discussed the different designs of reactors with process details. The different zones of the reactors are shown, and the refractories used in different zones for the reactors are discussed in detail.
