Abstract
- Time domain measurement techniques that determine the even- and odd-mode characteristic impedances and far end terminal resistances are presented for a coupled strip line network. It is not necessary to change the setup conditions at the near end terminals. Instead, the first and second impulse response components of reflection and transmission coefficients are used. Four combinations of the impulse components are discussed for characterization. In experiments, the use of a time domain reflectometer or a network analyzer equipped with software of an inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) is premised.
