Abstract

In this paper, a CPW-fed ultrawideband antenna with switchable notched stop bands is proposed. The antenna radiating patch which is embedded within a rectangular slot consisting of two parts: a slotted feed and a slotted octagonal patch. It has two slots to provide two switchable notched stop bands. The impedance bandwidth ranges from 3 GHz to 10.6 GHz. The modified fence-shaped slot is created in a radiating patch to create band-notched properties in the 5G WiFi band (5 GHz - 6 GHz). In the meanwhile, a meandering slot connection is created in the feed to obtain band-notched properties in the WiMAX band (3.3 GHz - 3.8 GHz). These two slots all can be switched on or off.
