Abstract: A novel and mild method for copper-mediated trifluoromethylation of 5-iodotriazole using (trifluoromethyl)trimethylsilane (Me 3 SiCF 3 ) as trifluoromethylating reagent with the assistance of Ag 2 CO 3 was developed.
