Tokyo, Japan. INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVE: Cigarette smoke contributes to the development of urothelial cancer (UC). The aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR), which is the receptor for xenobiotics such as cigarette smoke, induces the CYP1 family, which becomes involved in tumor initiation and progression.
