Abstract
- Boundary element method(BEM) is applied to computation of 3D eddy current fields due to heavy current leads in a 360MVA/500kV power transformer. To improve numerical accuracy, triangle polar coodinate mapping and additionâsubstraction technique are chosen to evaluate singular integrals. The effects of different shields in cover and arrangements of heavy current leads on eddy current loss and its density are analyzed.
