Abstract: This investigation was on the oxidation ot phenanthrene. The oxidation was attempted by pass1ng unheated atmospherio air through l1~id phenanthrene, by passing preheated atmospherio air through liquid phenanthrene, and by passing unheated pure oxygen through liquid phenanthrene, varying the tempera~re of the phenanthrene and using no oatalyst. only traoes or small yields of the d1basl0 ao1~s were obtained in any ot the :rwuJ that were made. is
