Abstract

The patients working in a ship yard, who suffered from gastric ulcer, were examined to study the influence of their life environmental factors on the gastric ulcer recurrence and recrudescence. The results obtained were as the followings; 1. In the gastroscopic demonstration of gastric ulcer, the cases of recurrent ulcer could not clearly be differed from those of not recurrent. 2. In the studies of their life environment and the analysis of both mecholyland C.M.I.~test, the results from a group followed by recurrent ulcer fail to be distinguished from the other not followed. 3. Night duty, overwork, taking adrenal steroid hormone, severe emotional strain about work and so on may play a important role in the factors of ulcer recurrence. 4. As the complete healing of gastric ulcer has unlikely taken place during the determination of redness by gastroscopic studies, the medical treatment should be continued for about more 6 months and the patients should be kept away from both night duty and overwork.
