Abstract
- Nickel vanadium oxide (NiV2O6) nanoparticles have been successfully prepared via hydrothermal and solvothermal methods using ammonium metavandate and nickel nitrate as precursors. The variations in the solvents used and the concentrations of the precursors produce immense change in the properties of the material. The characterization results revealed that the changes in structure, morphology, energy gap and functional group of NiV2O6 nanoparticles are highly related to their preparation conditions. Moreover, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) reveals the formation of nanorod like structures in hydrothermal treatment. The energy bandgaps are obtained by exploiting the Tauc relation and plotting the graph. A detailed description of solvent effect and its characteristic changes in concentration of the precursor are discussed.
