Coordination compounds of the nitrate salts of oxycation uranyl (UO22+) and praseodymium(III), neodymium(III) and erbium(III) with 2,2′-bipyridine-1,1′-dioxide

Abstract
- Coordination compounds with 2,2′-bipyridine-1,1′-dioxide (bipyO2) having the composition [UO2(bipyO2)2(NO3)2]·4H2O, [Pr(bipyO2)4(NO3)2]NO3·2H2O, [Dy(bipyO2)4(NO3)2]NO3·4H2O and [Er(bipyO2)4(NO3)2]NO3·4H2O have been synthesized. These new complexes have been characterized by electrical conductance, X-ray powder patterns and IR spectral measurements. IR spectra indicate that M ← bipyO2 (M = oxycation or metal ion) in these complexes appears in the region of 350–373 cm−1.
