Based on Phase Change Materials of Research on Compressor Tip Clearance Control

The reduction of tip clearance height of the compressor has an important influence on the improvement of compressor efficiency. The goal of tip clearance control technology is to reduce clearance height. Firstly, the phase change principle of phase change materials is analyzed. Under temperature excitation, when the phase change material is in the solid-liquid two-phase region, the volume of the phase change material will change with temperature. A phase change mechanism for tip clearance control was developed, and the clearance control scheme was designed. Finally, the feasibility of the gap control scheme is verified by the gap control function experiment.
