Incidence de la procédure de prélèvement des sols fins sur les caractéristiques géotechniques mesurées en laboratoire

A large program of laboratory testing including triaxial compression and pedometer test has been performed on french marine clay (in Brittany, Cran site). The main proposal of these investigations is to evaluate the influence of the sampling tools (type and procedure) on the laboratory tests results. The analysis of test results demonstrates that the sampling procedure influences the resistance and the compressibility characteristics. The deformation modulus increases with the sampler diameter, as the improvement of the sampler procedure. Some effects are difficult to evaluate in front of the natural variability in space for the marine clay site.
