Abstract

A 60 μCi radioactive 22 Na target has been produced to study the reaction 22 Na(p, γ) 23 Mg. The diffusion of NaCl-target material into various backings has been studied via the 23 Na(p, γ) 24 Mg reaction. The stability, homogeneity and impurities of the target were studied. The results of these studies are discussed.
