Abstract
- The effect of the exchange coupling on intrinsic properties such as the magneto-crystalline anisotropy is summarized. Hysteresis measurements in high external fields are necessary in order to determine the saturation magnetization. The anisotropy field is determined by applying the singular-point detection (SPD) technique. The steps to improve the sensitivity of a pulsed field magnetometer to measure the hysteresis on single flakes are described. Data are used to analyse the relation between the enhanced remanence and the coercivity and to determine the exchange length in exchange enhanced materials.
