Abstract

Mo(VI) and W(VI) oxoions form strong complexes with 5' -mononucleotides in acidic aqueous solutions. Complexation occurs exclusively through the nucleotide phosphate ester groups, yielding complexes of stoichiometry [(ROPO3)2Mo5O15]4− and [(ROPO3)2W5O15]4−.
