Abstract
- The ray model proposed by M.A. Alonso and M.R. Dennis gives a ray-based interpretation of well-known Gaussian mode families, and it opens the door to design new structured Gaussian beams. Based on the ray model, the wave field of octagonal structured Gaussian beam of different parameters N and µ is constructed with its expansion in the Laguerre-Gaussian beam basis which promises potential realization in fiber. In addition, the influence of parameters on the light field distribution of octagonal structured Gaussian beams is discussed.
