Abstract

This paper develops a changed Lorenz chaotic system (CLCS). We can scale the signal bandwidth exactly by scaling the parameters of the CLCS. The simulation results show that the new system also has nice radar characters such as its waveform has low peak-to-RMS ratio(PRMS), thumbtack shape ambiguity function, narrow main-lobe and low peak side-lobe autocorrelation function. When there is a strict requirement to the signal bandwidth, it doesn't need to spend much time in finding out other suitable parameters but just scaling the known suitable parameters. This is an advantage comparing to the signal waveform generated by the original Lorenz chaotic system.
