Abstract
- This report presents the results of a Class III cultural resources survey of 32 acres of land located east of Queen Creek, Arizona and west of the Central Arizona Project (CAP) canal in Pinal County, Arizona. The surveyed property is on Arizona State Trust Land administered by the Arizona State Land Department. The work was requested by the Salt River Project (SRP) to determine if significant cultural resources were present within the project area. Tiffany Clark and Greg Schachner of Desert Archaeology, Inc. completed the survey in one person-day on 16 September 2005. Kathleen Henderson, Ph.D., of Desert Archaeology served as Principal Investigator for the project. Six isolated occurrences of cultural material were recorded by the survey, but no archaeological sites or other significant cultural resources were found. A recommendation is made that future construction of the Dinosaur Substation will have no effect on significant cultural properties and that this work can proceed as planned.
