Abstract
- The microstructure of sol–gel derived cordierite doped B2O3 and P2O5 was investigated in this study. This kind of material had a low dielectric constant, low dissipation factor and can be co-fired with high conductivity metals such as Au, Ag/Pd, Cu paste at low temperature (below 1000 °C), suggesting that it would be a promising material for high-frequency MLCIs. This paper focused on the crystallizing process from MASBP glass phase including crystallizing temperature, the size and morphology of the crystals and the growth direction of a bar crystal. The experimental results showed that crystallizing phases were α-cordierite and the growth direction of a bar crystal was about [−6 9 −3 0], by a 14° angle with an axis.
