Abstract
- Vacuum mounts are used [i] to reduce the time consumed by auxiliary operations in preparing specimens for adhesion-strength test. A disadvantage of some designs of these is that there are large errors of measurement due to the use of slow mechanical devices for recording the failure force. Also, these instruments do not allow one to identify the initial phase, i.e., the load at which cracks are produced. Identifying such defects is very important in tests for example on joint sealing. We have proposed a device for examining adhesion strength in which these deficiencies are eliminated [2].
