Pi-Pi Correlations inp¯−pAnnihilation

The P-p aminilation process leading to pure pion production affords an oppcrtunity to examine possible pionpion interactions. An analysis of annhilation events inpropane was made. The events chosen were "hydrogen like," i.e., events showing no visible evaporation prongs and with N/sub pi /i+ = N/sub approximately /-. The distribution of angles be tween pions of like and unlike charge in the P-p c.m. system as well as the distribution of total energy of pion paris of like and unlike charge in thier c.m. system was examined.
