Abstract

First, on the basis of analyzing the features, current situation and development trend of mobile TV industry, the paper indicates its technology reform, channel expansion and business model innovation brought by triple play. Second, it proposes building a "Xinhua-oriented mobile TV industry chain", and explores main strategies for the development of mobile TV: to create TIME strategy together with the telecom operators; to develop broadcast services under "pareto principle" to focus on unicast business under the guidance of the "long tail" to develop multicast business, so as to achieve the integration of new media; to create innovative content and business models and make full use of mobile TV interaction; to design outstanding mobile TV components with software vendors; to launch "Xinhua Video Phone" with handset manufacturers; and to launch "Xinhua Inside" with IT vendors, etc.
