A new Australian genus of Stenosmylinae (Neuroptera: Osmylidae)

A new genus of Stenosmylinae, Carinosmylusgen.n., is described from south-eastern Australia. The single included species, C.durussp.n., is an apparently advanced form allied to Stenosmylus Kriiger and Stenolysmus Kimmins, but shows more extensive fusion and elaboration of the posterior abdominal segments. A key to stenosmyline genera is provided.
