Abstract

Iron-nta(nitrilotriacetate) solution induces severe nephrotoxicity and high accidence of renal carcinoma in rats and mice, however, the effect by an iron-pac(2-aminomethylpyridine-N,N-diacetate) solution is negligible. These facts were interpreted in terms of different reactivity of the two compounds toward hydrogen peroxide.
