Abstract

In this study, a polymeric composite with high-k, low dielectric loss, and high electrical energy storage has been developed by dispersing tetra-amido-phthalocyanine zinc (ZnPc) coated acidified multi-walled carbon nanotubes (a-MWCNT) within the sulfonated poly (ether ether ketone) (SPEEK) polymer matrix. The ZnPc-MWCNT/SPEEK composites exhibited better dielectric properties than pure polymer matrix, with a dielectric constant of 14.0 and a dielectric loss of 0.042 at 1 kHz (with 12 wt% ZnPc-MWCNT). Furthermore, the discharged energy density of ZnPc-MWCNT/SPEEK composites (4 wt% ZnPc-MWCNT) is 68% higher than that of the pure polymer.
