Swedish Experiences with Wastewater Treatment with Special Reference to Cold Climate

Abstract: Swedish effluent discharge regulations and treatment plant design practice are briefly reviewed. The performance with respect to BOD7 and total phophorus removals of different chemical and biological-chemical treatment plants is discussed with emphasize on cold climate conditions. Operating experiences and tests with process modifications are summarized.
