Abstract
- The bromide anation reaction of diaquo(triaminotriethylamine)cobalt(III) ion has been studied spectrophotometrically. The kinetics fit a rate law -d[complex] dt =kAN[Br−][complex] kAN typically 10−4 sec−1 M−1. The activation parameters: ΔH* = 25.2±0.4 kcal/mol−1, ΔG* = 24.3±0.3 kcal/mol−1, and ΔS* = 0.19±1.1 cal deg−1 mol−1 at ionic strength 2.0 M.
