Abstract
- This paper describes a real-time network manager which is suitable to clientserver models in distributed real-time systems, where the server tasks are based on the imprecise computation modeL An imprecise task is a task that is capable of trading off the quality of the result to the amount of the execution time. However, the task lacks the ability to determine the appropriate amount of work. The proposed real-time network manager determines, on behalf of the server task, the adequate amount of execution time as well as the adequate transmission time by holding the intermediate results in an EDF manner.
