Abstract
- Mitral valve prolapse, a common condition that can occur in 5% to 15% of the general population, presents a number of unresolved questions. Among these are the criteria for the diagnosis, the prevalence of complications, and the prognosis. Especially important is the relation of mitral prolapse to anxiety symptoms and panic attacks.
