Abstract

Real-time monitoring of oil and gas production is a highly automatically management processing. Downhole permanent sensor network is an effective means for oil and gas reservoir dynamical monitoring, and it is one of the rapid developing technologies for oil and gas resource management in petroleum industry. In the paper a downhole permanent sensor network design is introduced, where the fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors can be used as the downhole sensor to measure temperature and pressure, the data acquisition system on the surface process and transmit the information to database server of monitoring center by GPRS wireless mobile communication network, the temperature and pressure distribution of the formation can be reconstructed, meanwhile the data can be browsed on Internet or by mobile telephone, and the consumer receive alarm message when there may be in trouble. The realtime monitoring system offers manager and technician credible basis to make decision timely. The application perspective and some key technologies are also discussed.
