Abstract

The tremendous usage of power electronic devices in power system makes the harmonic pollution can't be ignored any more. Harmonic contents in power system is one of the indexes to evaluate the power quality. Alternative Transients Program (ATP) has obvious advantages in transient calculation. While it is difficult to carry out the electromagnetic transient calculation of actual power grid due to its limitation for dimension and lack of transient data of the actual power system. Power System Analysis Software Package (PSASP) is more excellent in electromechanical transient calculation, and has been applied to the actual power grid for long periods of time for its timely update, maintenance of the database and high reliability. Therefore converting the electromechanical transient data of the PSASP model into the ATP model is an effective way to solve the problem. The sub module conversion method, establishes the corresponding relationship between the two models(PSASP and ATP) of the sub module, is chosen by comparing the divergence of two models of the software. The data conversion software achieves convert the data of a large power grid or its simplified model is written at the VC++ 6.0 platform. The accuracy and practicability of the data conversion software are verified by the simulation results of the electromagnetic transient model of IEEE 9-bus test system and the Shaanxi power grid model which contains the detailed model of Deyang-Baoji HVDC transmission system.
